PolyDye is a ESP32 based 3D printer mod that applies a color layer using a 2D printer inkjet cartridge in between each layer of white filament to produce full color 3D printed models

PolyDye consists of a mainboard and an assembly that is attached to the toolhead of a 3D printer combined with a web interface to control the unit.

PolyDye is compatible with most Marlin based 3D printers that have a USB port using a FT23x, CH34X serial chipset although has only been officially testing using a Creality CR6-SE printer.

You will need to model or obtain only the toolhead mount externally. Unfortunately we can only provide mounts for the CR6-SE currently

No, PolyDye only works with specific cartridges.

No, PolyDye requires a watertight(manifold) model with a texture in full color.

No, most printers do not have publicly available CAD files therefore the need for the actual printer. We plan to make more mounts available in the future.
